Nine good tips: How to use a butt plug

sådan bruger du et buttplug

What exactly is a buttplug? Does it hurt to use? And how do you do it? Should you pull it forward or back - or what? We can understand that you ask, because it is probably not something you have been taught in depth, either by your parents or by your biology teacher, when you had sex education at school.

Maybe you've seen porn actors having sex with buttplugs, heard your friends talk about it - or came across such a plug when you browsed around here at Klub Venus.

So now we demystify once and for all what such an anal plug is used for and give you our buttplug ABC - all you need to know. Read on and find answers!

What is a butt plug?

A butt plug is a piece of sex toy that is inserted into the anus when you have sex. Butt plugs, or anal plugs as they are also called, are available in many sizes, shapes and colors. Always choose a butt plug that either has a stop at the end or a safety ring. Otherwise, you risk it slipping up your rectum. And that ain't pretty!

A butt plug can be used by anyone; both people with a vagina and people with a penis. You can have sex while one of you has a butt plug in your butt, or for that matter both have a plug in.

Unlike a dildo, a butt plug should not be pulled in and out or back and forth. It should really just stay put while you have sex, and then you take it out afterwards.

Maybe you've heard that a butt plug should be used to prepare for "real" anal sex. This is a huge misunderstanding. A butt plug is a sex toy in itself.

A butt plug gives you a wonderful feeling of being filled. The anus is one of the sensitive erogenous zones on your body, where touch feels delightfully titillating.

And hey, it's not forbidden or wrong to have anal sex. Some of us still insist that it is a different type of sex than the one we were taught in sex education in primary school. Whatever turns you on! <3

A butt plug can therefore be used to stimulate another one of the body's many pleasure points while you have sex.

Important: Take care of security!

Only use buttplugs that have either a backstop or a safety ring. Your rectum can form a vacuum that sucks the toy in further than is fun. In the worst case, it can end with a really miserable trip to the hospital.

How to use a butt plug?

Before you jump into having sex with your new butt plug, it's a good idea to prepare yourself and familiarize yourself with how such a plug for anal sex is used. There are a few things that are good to know. Read along here and learn how to use a butt plug:

Nine good tips for your first time with a butt plug

  1. Ensure good hygiene
Regardless of whether you use a butt plug or not, good hygiene is always important, especially during anal play. Always make sure the toys you use are clean. Never use the same toy, the same finger, or the same penis in both the anus and vagina without cleaning between changes. The bacterial flora in the vagina is a delicate size, and you risk getting pelvic inflammatory disease if bacteria from the rectum are carried up into your vagina. Therefore: Hygiene, hygiene hygiene.
  2. Anal sex and defecation
Our rectum is made in such a smart way that there is only faeces immediately inside the opening when you feel you need to go to the toilet. So if you have very basic hygiene, your rectum is clean and ready for anal sex. If you are worried about any residue on the butt plug, see if you can go to the toilet beforehand so that your bowel is empty and wash yourself at the opening with a shower head. There are also anal douches that can be used to flush the bowel with before. Be careful not to overwash (this can cause diarrhoea), and accept that the body works the way it does; with all its fluids and amazing features. Feces are not dangerous<3
  3. Use lubricant
Lubricant is important for you to have a good experience with your butt plug. The anus does not produce moisture itself, just like the vagina, for example. do. And to make your butt plug slide easily, painlessly and safely into place, you need lube - and plenty of it!
  4. Walk forward slowly
Anal play should always take place at a leisurely pace. It is important to relax well in the anus, which must be expanded just as quietly, in order to get the buttplug in. Especially the first few times, it is especially important to take it easy.
  5. Give the anus a gentle massage
Before inserting the butt plug, it is a good idea to gently massage the anus to relax the sphincter that holds the anus closed. With lube on one finger, you can run around the area calmly and gently move the tip of the finger in and out. Only when the anus is so relaxed that it no longer tightens around the fingertip when you insert it, are you ready to use a butt plug.
  6. Start with a small butt plug
If you are new to the discipline of anal sex, it is a good idea to start small. Choose a small butt plug the first time or choose an anal plug with several balls of different sizes, so that you can introduce one ball at a time and feel when you are ready for the next and slightly larger ball to be introduced.
  7. Lie on all fours
When you have to set up your butt plug, it is often easiest if you lie on all fours or lie on your stomach. Try your hand and push the plug in carefully and gently. Stop if it hurts.
  8. Have fun
Now your plug sits where it should. Now it's just about doing whatever else feels good. Have sex with vaginal penetration or use a vibrator. If you are new to using a buttplug, make sure you take it out again within 15-20 minutes the first few times. And make sure to constantly feel whether it feels good.
  9. Carefully pull out your plug
Take a deep breath, relax the anus and exhale slowly as you carefully pull out your anal plug.

How do I choose the right butt plug?

There are several different types of butt plugs. If you are a beginner, start with a small plug. If you like the sensation, you can continue to explore yourself and your new favorite erogenous zone with a larger version. Or maybe a version that has a vibrator. Here is a quick guide to different types of anal plugs:

Silicone butt plug

A silicone anal plug is a good choice if you are a beginner. Silicone plugs are soft and quickly adapt to your body's temperature - and that can be nice for a start. They come in different sizes and shapes, and some of them are even so nice that we want to leave them out for decoration. It's just a matter of getting started experimenting.

Glass butt plug

Butt plugs in glass are for you who have been doing anal play for a while and would like to experiment more. A glass of butt plug can be both heated up and cooled down if you like to play with temperatures and want a little extra stimulation. It is hard and presses in a different way than e.g. a silicone plug. They come in different sizes and are easy to clean.

Vibrating butt plug

A vibrator and butt plug in one is for you who are experienced. Just as vibrations against the clitoris feel great, it can also be great with vibrations during anal sex. Both when you masturbate alone and when you have sex with others.

Why use a butt plug?

Some find it easier to orgasm with a butt plug, others have stronger orgasms. It is not certain that a butt plug is for you, but it may also be that you absolutely love the feeling of being filled.

How to clean a butt plug?

It is important that you clean your butt plug after use. You can wash it with intimate soap or a toy cleaner made especially for the purpose. Some types of sex toys can be scalded, but always check the user manual for your toy before boiling it.

Do you get better orgasms with a butt plug?

Yes, some do. But not all. If you were born with a penis, a butt plug will stimulate your prostate, which gives a completely different type of orgasm than e.g. a penile orgasm. If you were born with a vulva, a butt plug presses on the nerves that lie between the rectum and the vaginal wall, and it can also feel fantastic.

Does using a butt plug hurt?

It shouldn't hurt to use the butt plug. Stop immediately if putting up the butt plug is painful. Give yourself plenty of time, use plenty of lube and make sure you warm up well with e.g. a lovely one massage.

Failed the first time?

No need to despair or throw your butt plug the hell away <3 There is no guarantee that it will be successful the first time. Try again another day when you feel ready. Read our guide again and take it slow. Remember: The most important thing is that you have a good experience with it.
