7 tips: How to use a dildo?

7 tips: hvordan bruger man en dildo?

Maybe you are considering getting one? It may also be that you have already invested in such a gadget, and now it is lying on the bedside table waiting to be used. But how?

This is the dildo we're talking about. Because how do you do it? Just slide it in and out of your favorite body opening?

A dildo can do much more than that. We take you by the hand and lead you through its mysteries in this guide.

What is a dildo?

A dildo is an elongated sex toy that is made for penetration during sex: that is, to insert it into either the vagina or the anus. Dildos come in many sizes, shapes and colors. Some are completely smooth, while others have knobs or grooves that can stimulate you or your partner when you move it in and out of either the vagina or the anus. You can get dildos in many different materials: from glass and steel to silicone. And then you can get them both with a built-in vibrator and without.

Why use a dildo?

Well there are several reasons. The most important one is for sure: Because it feels good.

For some, it's about the feeling of being "filled out" when having sex: feeling the dildo in either the vagina or the anus, where there are many pleasure points.

Some use a dildo - or two - because they want to be double penetrated: Ie. having a penis or dildo in both anus and vagina at the same time.

You can also use a dildo if neither you nor your partner have a penis, but like the feeling of being penetrated by something bigger than a finger.

If you masturbate, a dildo may be for you who want to be penetrated when you don't have a partner by your side.

A dildo can also hit where a penis has difficulty reaching: Some dildos have e.g. a curvature that makes them suitable for hitting your g-spot.

And then there are also many who turn on to see their sex partner being penetrated with a dildo.

How to use a dildo?

But how do you use it? Do you just pull it in and out or what? Good question. Because there are actually several ways to use your new sex toy. Let us list some of them for you here:

7 tips: How to use your dildo

1. Use it for double penetration - if you have a fantasy of trying to be penetrated in the vagina and anus at the same time, then the dildo is your friend. If your partner has a penis, you of course only need one dildo so that you can be filled in all body openings - and if your partner does not have a penis, you can use two dildos to create the feeling. Important: If you use your dildo for anal sex, it is important that you choose one that has a base or some form of stopper. Your bottom creates a vacuum that can cause the toy to slip right up into you if there is no back stopper.

2. Play with depths and angles - one of the smart things about a dildo is that it can be angled. Depending on how you hold it, you hit different places inside you. For example sits the g-spot on the vaginal wall against your bladder. Then, if you angle the dildo slightly upwards, when you have inserted it, you can reach the small, golden point. You can also play with bringing it only a small distance up into you and with small, short thrusts stimulate some of the points that sit right at the entrance of the vagina or anus. Just like you can also thrust deep and slow. Try yourself out.

3. Add vibrations - dildos come with and without built-in vibrators. Do you have a dildo that can't vibrate and you want a change? Some dildos are hollow so you can insert a bullet vibrator into them. Alternatively, you can give your dildo a vibrating penis ring to create a little vibe.

4. Use it together with a vibrator - you must own more than one sex toy. Fortunately. Because who wants to have to choose? And you can easily use your dildo together with e.g. a clitoral vibrator, so you are stimulated at several pleasure points at once. Do you think it's too much work for your hands to control two toys? Either you can insert the dildo and charge that side while you stimulate other erogenous zones with your vibrator. You can also use a remote-controlled vibrator, so you only have to concentrate on controlling the dildo. Or perhaps the ultimate solution: Invest in a rabbit vibrator that is a dildo and clitoral vibrator in one. It could also be Woody , which you will find here at Klub Venus. It also does the trick.

5. Use lube - it's simple: it's much easier to insert a dildo if there's some lubrication. For example a material like silicone can be quite difficult to introduce into your body without lube. If you use the dildo anally, a good lube is alpha and omega. Remember that it must be a lubricant that is suitable for sex toys. For example you should not use a silicone-based cream together with sex toys that are made of silicone. A water-based cream such as Love Juice is better here.

6. Use it as a strap-on - if you don't have a penis yourself, but have a fantasy of penetrating your partner, you can get a dildo that fits a so-called harness into which you can attach the dildo.

7. Stimulate yourself externally - the dildo may have been originally invented to lead into the vulva and anus, but also experiment with stimulating yourself or your partner externally with it. You can e.g. simply use it when you masturbate and run it back and forth over the clitoris or your perineum. Or you can alternately take it in and out of yourself, rub it against the clitoris and take it in again.

Clean your dildo after use

While it might not be the first thing that comes to mind when you're lying in bed gathering strength after climaxing, it's a really good idea to clean your dildo after every use. Otherwise, you risk a bunch of not-so-delicious bacteria moving in among the remains of dried-on lubricant and body fluids. We have of course made a guide for that: How to clean your sex toys.
