Guide: How to use a strap on?

guide: hvordan bruger man en strap on?

Strap ons are for everyone regardless of whether you have a penis or not. Here you will get a guide to what types of strap ons exist - and how you and your partner can get started with exploring penetration sex, pegging* and anal sex with a dildo strapped to your abdomen.

In this guide, we call the one of you who penetrates the other the "giver". We call the partner who is penetrated the "recipient".

What is a strap on?

A strap on is a dildo that is attached to your body either using some form of harness (also called a harness) or underpants. It gives you great freedom of movement when you want to penetrate your partner either vaginally or anally. There are many different types of strap ons and a large selection of designs and sizes.

Are both parties stimulated with a strap on?

It depends on…

… if you have a penis and have sex while wearing a hollow strap on, you will probably feel a physical stimulation.

... if you have a vulva and have sex with a strap on, it is primarily the recipient who is physically stimulated. Unless you have chosen a type with a base that can vibrate and stimulate the clitoris. There are several options for adding vibrations to both ends of your strap on. Blue. you can spice up the sex yourself with a remote-controlled vibrator or a bumper. Also, experiment with different sex positions to see which ones provide the most stimulation for both of you.

Which strap on should I choose?

There is no one size fits all when it comes to strap ons. You must base your choice on the type of sex you want, who you want to have sex with and what you prefer: Should the dildo be large or small? With or without vibrator? Should it be used anally or vaginally? And do you like the full of colors or lifelike dummies best?

We guide them through some of the different types available on the market:

The classic strap on

The best known strap on consists of a harness with an O-ring - it is this ring that you have to stick your dildo through. This type is particularly good for you who would like to choose which kind of dildo you want to have sex with - and want to be able to change it continuously. That way you can change size and material or switch between dildos for different purposes.

The one for double penetration

If you and your partner both have a vulva, there are strap ons for double penetration. Often there will be a smaller piece at one end that must be inserted into either the donor's vagina. This type of strap on does not require a harness, but it is an advantage to have a strong pelvic floor to keep it in place.

The hollow strap on

The hollow model is for you with a dick who, for one reason or another, wants to use a strap on. Many choose this type if they have problems with premature ejaculation, erection problems or want to experiment with length and girth.

The one with base

If you, as a donor with a vulva, would like to be stimulated while you penetrate your partner, there are panties and harnesses with a built-in base that vibrate and stimulate the clitoris on the donor while you have sex. If you have a harness without a base, you can alternatively use a remote-controlled vibrator and control it yourself with the remote control - or let your partner take control. You can also use a bumper: a soft pillow that vibrates in the same way as a vibrator.

How to use a strap on

Once you've found the right strap on, it's just a matter of getting started exploring your new body extension. Here you will get a few good tips along the way:

1. Practice before

How should your harness and dildo be put on? Does everything fit as it should? And how does it feel to move around? If this is the first time you are trying a strap on, you may just have to get used to the sensation - especially if you are not already equipped with a penis.

2. Lay out gently

Regardless of whether you want to have sex anal, vaginal or both, it's a good idea to start gently. If you are new to a strap on, it will also be a completely different sensation for you to have to penetrate your partner. That's why it's a good idea to take it easy and try yourself out.

3. Start small

If this is the first time you are playing with a strap on, it may be a good idea to start small and then change the dildo to a bigger one, the more experienced you become. Do you or your partner e.g. have not had anal sex before, then it is not certain that anal play with a strap on is the right place to start. You can possibly read our guide to anal sex and get inspiration on how to get started.

4. Remember lube

If you are going to have anal sex or play with pegging, it is extra important to use lubricant. And here the rule "better too much than too little" applies.

5. Never straight on and hard

Regardless of whether you have sex in the anus or vagina, make sure that your receiving partner is well relaxed, turned on and feeling ready. For pegging and anal sex, you can start by stimulating the anus with a finger or a butt plug to gently lay out before you put your strap on in use.

6. Try different positions

Try your hand, experiment and play with different positions. If you are not naturally endowed with a dick, it will take some getting used to. As a starting point, the missionary position and doggy style will be good positions to start with as a beginner.

7. Talk together after sex

What worked and what didn't? How did it feel to be the one who penetrates? And the one being penetrated? Is there anything you should do differently next time?

8. Remember cleaning

Like any other sex toy, strap ons must also be kept clean. If it can be separated into several parts, separate it and wash the parts separately. The dildo must be cleaned with soap specifically for the purpose , and depending on the material your harness is made of, it may be able to handle a trip in the washing machine or be wiped with a damp cloth.
